Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television host in America and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, provides simple techniques that anyone can master. Chef Burrell worked in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the landscape. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and food in her early years. She pursued her passion for the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." I just couldn't get enough enjoyment from it. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. During her time in Italy she came to appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian food and culture that left a lasting impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of childhood diabetes. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences and travels across the nation as part of her mentorship role. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am so lucky to be able to share my true passion for life with people.
