Dormer, born 11 February 1982 was an English actress. Her accolades include
winning an Empire Award, and receiving nominations for the Critics' Choice
Award as well as two Gemini Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Born in
Reading, Berkshire, Dormer was a star when she played the role of Anne Boleyn
on The Tudors, a Showtime show The Tudors (2007-08), that earned her acclaim
across the board. Her stage debut was in the show Sweet Nothings (2010). She
also appeared in the Sweet Nothings (2010) and she played the Duchess York in
Madonna's film W.E. (2011) as well as Private Lorraine in Captain America: The
First Avenger (2011). After Miss Julie (2012) at the Young Vic, was highly and
praised. Dormer earned international attention and praise for her role as
Margaery Tyrell on the HBO series Game of Thrones (2012-2016) and Cressida in
the two final parts of The Hunger Games franchise (2014-2015), which rank as
her top-grossing movies. Dormer also voiced the character of Onica in The Dark
Crystal: Age of Resistance (2018), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016),
and Irene Adler/Moriarty for CBS's Elementary (2013)-15. Her character in Penny
Dreadful: City of Angels which was a miniseries based on Penny Dreadful, was
highly and highly acclaimed. Dormer was born on February 11, 1982 in Reading,
Berkshire (England) as the daughter of Gary Dormer & Claire Richards.
She is also the sibling of Samantha Dormer and Mark Dormer.
