Tauheed Epps (also known as 2 Chainz), is an American rapper and hip hop artist. Georgia born, he founded the hip hop duo Playaz Circle together with a high-school friend. Their first album, titled Supply & Demand was a modest success. Epps released the album 'Based on the T.R.U. Story', his debut studio album. It became a massive hit, and debuted at the top of the charts at 1 on the US Billboard 200. The album sold 147,000 copies in its first week itself! He has never been back from the album's success and rose to become one of the most admired American rappers. He has been nominated in six Grammy categories, and of these one was won by "No Problem." The singer caused controversy in 2013, after he was arrested on board on a flight departing from the Los Angeles International Airport as his luggage included promethazine and marijuana. His brushes with the law did not affect his popularity. His fourth studio album, "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music", was released in June of 2017. 'Based On the T.R.U. Story', 2 Chainz's debut studio album can be considered to be his debut major album and also his most successful. The album was a huge success. It climbed to the top of the US Billboard 200 and sold 147,000 copies in less than a week. The album ultimately sold 623,000 copies throughout the course of the year. It was nominated at the 55th Grammy Awards for 'Best Rap Album'. Most reviews were mixed. 2 Chainz married Kesha Wade in 2013. The couple have three kids together: Heaven, Harmony, Halo. He is not only a highly accomplished professional, but he's known for his brushes with the law. He has been arrested several times for possession of drugs.
